STUDENT REQUIREMENTS:

Students applying to InScribe University must display a basic knowledge of spoken and written English, sentence structure and grammar. Students must have the ability to type by touch. Basic computer skills will be necessary.

SOFTWARE AND EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS:

Students must have a personal computer, internet access and e-mail to complete the course.

  • PDF file reader such as Adobe Acrobat.
  • Transcription software to read digital audio files with .wav extension.
    (Recommended: Express Scribe Transcription Software at no charge at http://www.nch.com.au/scribe/index.html )
  • Web browser/Mozilla Firefox recommended

For the internship portion the following software is necessary:

  • Windows XP.
  • MS Word 2003-2007
    (Earlier or later versions of Word are not supported. Windows Vista and Windows 7 are not supported.)
EQUIPMENT SUPPLIED BY INSCRIBE UNIVERSITY:

A TransNet foot pedal to play dictation files, supplied upon receipt of payment as described above.

LENGTH OF PROGRAM:

InScribe University is a self-guided course consisting of five modules. The course is designed to be completed within six months. Students will be given twelve months to complete the course in their own time. Students who do not complete the course within twelve months will need to apply for an extension of their enrollment. Each extension will be assessed on an individual basis.

TUITION AND FEES:

The tuition for InScribe University’s Medical Transcription course is $2000.00. Students making special arrangements for payments through inscribe will pay five payments of $400.00. Upon completing and receiving a passing grade on each module, students will become eligible to begin the next level of the medical transcription course. Please check with an InScribe representative to see if any current discounts can be applied to your payment option.

All efforts will be made on the part of InScribe University’s tutors and mentors to assist students in achieving a passing grade. However, we cannot guarantee a passing grade to any student, and students will not be allowed to progress to the next module without a passing grade.

DELIVERY OF MATERIALS:

Course materials will be delivered to the student within ten days of receipt of enrollment and payment as agreed. Delivery of each module will be made within ten days of receipt of signed request as long as payment is current.

REFUND POLICY:
TEN-DAY CANCELLATION PERIOD.

Students will have ten days from the time their application is received in InScribe University’s office in Murray, Kentucky, to withdraw from the course. Should student withdraw from the course within ten days and return all materials received from InScribe, a full refund (minus any shipping fees that were incurred by InScribe for shipment of materials) will be returned to the student upon receipt of all materials and request to withdraw. Following this ten-day cancellation period, students may withdraw at any time from InScribe University by submitting a formal request electronically, by written mail or by fax. Upon withdrawal, the student remains responsible for payment for any portion of the course the student has completed and for any equipment or materials the student retains.

InScribe University reserves the right to terminate a student at anytime throughout the course for lack of or substandard performance in the course. Students terminated for any reason will be responsible for fees for any portion of the course completed or for any materials retained by the student.

REQUEST FOR ENROLLMENT I hereby apply for enrollment in InScribe University’s Medical Transcriptionist program. I request online access to InScribe University’s five-module program. I will pay as agreed.
STUDENT ACKNOWLEDGEMENT I hereby acknowledge receipt of this enrollment agreement and the current course information via electronic delivery. I have read and understand the description of the course and its contents and requirements. I acknowledge that I must receive a passing grade in each module before continuing to the next module. I acknowledge and understand that I must complete and receive passing grades in all five modules in order to receive a certificate of completion from InScribe University.
STUDENT AGREEMENT: I agree that the information entered in the form is true and current to the best of my knowledge.
Once the enrollment form has been completed the submit button will take you to a secure payment site. Upon completing your payment you will receive verification of receipt of payment from InScribe. An InScribe representative will then contact you within 24 hours with your user name and password. This information will be used to access your online course material. Any additional course items will be shipped within 10 days of enrollment.
